THE JAIPUR STORY · SINCE 1727

A city that wears
its history beautifully.

Jaipur is not just a place on a map. It's a feeling — of sun-warmed sandstone, colourful doorways, the sound of busy bazaars and a little magic around every turn.

Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur became celebrated for its thoughtfully planned streets and distinctive pink-hued old city. Today, centuries-old grandeur lives side by side with an energetic creative spirit.

THE LITTLE DETAILS

Good to know
before you go.

First time in the Pink City? A few thoughtful pointers go a long way.

The cooler months, usually October through March, are popular for walking tours and outdoor sightseeing. Summer afternoons can be very hot, so plan rest and water breaks.

Absolutely. One day can introduce you to several highlights, especially with a well-planned route. Two or three days give you more room for museums, food stops and slow market wandering.

Jal Mahal is generally enjoyed from the lakeside promenade rather than as an interior palace visit. Its reflection over Man Sagar Lake makes for a lovely photo stop.

Jaipur's identity comes from both its architectural heritage and everyday creative traditions: jewellery making, blue pottery, hand-printed textiles, traditional cuisine, folk arts and lively bazaars.

Yes. Hours, ticket prices and entry rules can change. Check the monument's official visitor information shortly before you go. Our example routes are suggestions, not confirmed reservations.
